Corgi Juniors “Whizzwheels” No. 1007:

‘Ironside’ Police Van Die-cast Scale Model
(‘The Paddy Wagon’)

Manufacturer:
The Mettoy Company Limited, London, England

Date of Issue:  1970

Dimensions:
Card:
100mm x 165 mm (4" x 6.5")
Model:  68mm x 24 mm x 30 mm (2.5" x 1" x 0.75")

Notes:
Although this was once considered incredibly rare, and used to fetch astronomical prices at sales, thanks to the democracy of the InterNet loose examples of this now appear frequently on auction websites and go for affordable amounts. Even mint, carded examples are offered regularly—usually with Germany as the source—but are still expensive to acquire in this condition.

A nicely thought out toy, when the little yellow lever below the running board is pushed backwards, the rear doors lift up, and The Chief and Mark appear.

Note, too, the S.F.P.D. crest on the side!

Now, if only someone had produced a more accurate, larger-scale example!
