 •  “IRONSIDE”
Raymond Burr
By now the story is a familiar one—Raymond Burr has shrugged off the image of the American courtroom giant, Perry Mason, to become a more credible being in the person of Chief of Detectives Robert Ironside, a forthright individual who, despite the handicap of a wheelchair and a love of liquor still fills a useful place in the battle against crime. Released on the American TV scene last year, Ironside, was such a success that the motion picture format that had been used to introduce Burr’s new image was swiftly expanded into the regular weekly series we will soon be watching in New Zealand.
